Ivory Was Alive - Elephant Necklace IVORY-WAS-ALIVE-ELEPHANT-NECKLACE
my philosophy in life is do good work and give back. I try my best to give as much time and money to charities as I can. I love involving my customers with this in a straighforward way so that you can feel that you are helping out causes in a direct manner.
This necklace was inspired by an episode of "The Nature of Things with David Suzuki" a environmental and nature show on the Canadian Broadcasting Company. This particular episode called "For the Love of Elephants" (http://www.cbc.ca/documentaries/natureofthings/2010/loveofelephants/) was all about a rehabilitation center outside of Nairobi, Kenya that rehabilitates baby elephants who have been orphaned by poachers.
their dedication and love for these amazing animals inspired me. I wanted to help in a way that I could. Thus, $5 of every one of these necklaces sold will go directly to this center.
I support other charities as well, if you want to know more about them please see my website:http://www.markheddesign.com/about
This necklace is rather large 1.5" by ~1" and is cut by hand with a handsaw by me! I then stamped the words "Ivory was Alive" on it, then finished it by darkening the words for them to stand out.
It hangs on a 24" sterling silver darkened chain.
